If you are looking to alternative investments rather than the falling stock markets then you may like to consider pin-hooking.
David has enjoyed considerable success with his pin-hooking ventures, purchasing foals and selling them as yearlings in Britain and Ireland. Again, his expert eye for a horse has been key to the success of this high risk venture.
Notable horses to have recently made a profit for the syndicates includes a filly by Camacho out of Baileys Cream who sold at DBS St Leger Sales 2008 for £65,000 having been purchased as a foal for €32,000, and she went onto make 130,000 Gns at Tattersalls Breeze Sale. The year before the One Cool Cat colt out of Catch The Moon realised a profit of over £50,000, and the half-brother to multiple Stakes winner Tax Free made a profit of £27,000.
Tax Free was also purchased by the syndicate as a foal for only €16,000. Now with seven Stakes wins to his form including three Gr.3 races he is an excellent example of how successful our pin-hooks have also been on the racecourse. 2006 Epsom Oaks second and Gr.2 Park Hill winner, Rising Cross, was also purchased as a foal by the Tweenhills/Rathmore Pin-hooking Syndicate for just 10,500gns. In addition, Dark Islander, a 24,000gns foal purchase, won the Gr.2 Oak Tree Derby at Santa Anita.
The pin-hooking syndicates are run in partnership with Peter Molony of Rathmore Stud.
