Tweenhills
Stud was established in 1995, following the conversion of the Redvers
family farm.
Since then, Tweenhills has been associated with breeding, raising
and grazing numerous top class horses, most notably Cheltenham favourite
Lady Rebecca who won seven races at the local track including three
consecutive Gr.1 Cleeve Hurdles.
Also Champion filly Flashy Wings was bred at Tweenhills by Stephen
Hillen and Redmyre Bloodstock, a partnership between David Redvers
and Richard Pegum. Those raised at the stud include pin-hooks Rising
Cross, Epsom Oaks second and Gr.2 Park Hill winner, and Dark Islander,
Gr.2 Oak Tree Derby winner in USA.
The Tweenhills’ bred Medicean colt out of Complimentary Pass
was purchased by Shadwell Estates for 400,000gns at Tattersalls October
Yearling Sale Book 1 in 2007. He had previously realised 230,000gns
at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale when consigned by Tweenhills.
The Stud is also renowned for offering highly commercial stallions.
They tick all the boxes that go to make a successful sire and above
all else offer the opportunity to breed to genuine class at tremendous
value.
The Stud is situated 5 miles north of Gloucester in Hartpury, on 400
acres of the most fertile ground in the Severn Vale.
Our facilities comprise of nearly 100 stables and post and rail paddocks
protected by ancient hedgerows. We have the most modern facilities
of any stud including a state of the art 12 box foaling unit and new
modern stallion unit for five stallions.
Paddocks range in size from small nursery paddocks for mares and their
new-born foals, to larger paddocks providing plenty of room for older
foals and yearlings to graze and stretch so aiding their development.
Veterinary expertise is on-hand from the nationally renowned Kearns
& Rea veterinary practice in Tewkesbury. Our farrier is Graeme
Fleet.
Hence, you can be assured your mares and foals will be raised in an
excellent environment that will benefit their full physical development.
"I
have always found David's advice on bloodstock matters both helpful
and profitable."
